Founded in 2001, Creative Family Connections is a top-ranked boutique surrogacy agency and law firm. Prospective parents from around the world choose to work with us for our proactive hands-on support and creative legal expertise. Because we are an integrated agency and law firm, we provide intended parents legal support in-house in most cases, and we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. We are consistently ranked one of the best surrogacy agencies in the world by those who know us best – parents and surrogates who have been through a journey with us. During our 20-plus years of experience, our surrogacy attorneys have been pioneers in fighting for landmark rulings for LGBTQ+ parents. We are committed to being your best advocates. CFC is proud to provide pro bono and discounted services to support the mission of GPAP.
Diane Hinson, a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, founded Creative Family Connections LLC on the principle that “everyone can build a family.” After starting her own family as a single mother, Diane built a full-service surrogacy agency and reproductive rights law firm that is consistently one of the highest-ranked agencies in the world. Clients from across the country and around the world choose CFC for the compassionate care and legal expertise that Diane and her team provide. Because of her passion for family equality, Diane has fought to obtain landmark court rulings for same-sex parents. She has opened doors to IVF clinics for gay fathers, drafted and advocated for gay-friendly surrogacy legislation, served as HRC’s pro-bono counsel for surrogacy issues, spoken frequently about surrogacy, and provided surrogacy advice on the well-known Surromoms.com website. She has also collaborated with fellow surrogacy attorneys to develop an in-depth 50-state surrogacy law analysis, which is widely relied upon in the surrogacy world and cited in the media.
Ciara joined CFC as an Associate Attorney in 2021 after completing a legal fellowship with the Legal Services Corporation. Her prior legal work centered the voices of women and gender diverse persons with disabilities, ensuring their rights to exercise complete reproductive autonomy. She continues this work today as a volunteer Disability Rights Advocate for the Women’s Major Group, a participant in the United Nations efforts to achieve sustainable development. Ciara received her J.D. and M.A. in International Service from American university and her B.A. in Sociology from Connecticut College.
At CFC Ciara supports our legal portfolio by drafting and negotiating contracts, assisting with court filings and petitions, and conducting ongoing legal research. Ciara resides in Washington, D.C. with her partner and their dog. She is an active member of the local LGBTQ+ community and enjoys gardening, yoga, and learning new languages (currently: International Sign).
